Caddie vs Wispr Flow

Both let you hold fn on a Mac and talk into any app. Wispr Flow is a dedicated dictation app on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, with 100+ languages and a meeting notetaker. Caddie's dictation is part of an app that already holds your notes, meetings and calendar, so it knows the names and jargon you say from the first day; in Caddie's own test it made the fewest mistakes of six Mac setups. Pick Wispr Flow for dictation on every device or in many languages. Pick Caddie on a Mac if you want accuracy on your own words, plus notes, tasks and meetings.

Which should you choose?

Choose Wispr Flow if

  • You dictate on Windows, iPhone or Android, not just a Mac.
  • You dictate in languages other than English and Hindi.
  • Your team needs HIPAA with a signed BAA, or SSO and SCIM.

Choose Caddie if

  • You say a lot of names, products and jargon, and want them spelled right on the first day.
  • You speak Hinglish and want Hindi words kept in Roman letters.
  • You want dictation, notes, tasks, calendar and meeting notes for the price of one app.

Which is more accurate?

In Caddie's test of six Mac dictation setups on the same eight clips of everyday speech (Indian English, Hinglish, names, tech terms), Caddie's Scribe mode made the fewest mistakes and Wispr Flow was close behind. Caddie ran the test, so read the method and judge for yourself.

Why would dictation inside a notes app be more accurate?

A stand-alone dictation app starts with an empty dictionary and learns when you correct it. Caddie already has your notes, journal, meeting notes and calendar, which are full of the names and jargon you say, so it listens for them from day one and keeps learning from new notes.

How fast is each?

Caddie's Default mode types in about half a second after you let go of fn; Scribe, the most accurate, takes about a second. Caddie's test counts the time to fix wrong words too, because one wrong word costs more than the whole wait.

Where does the audio go?

Wispr Flow transcribes in the cloud, and lets you turn off model training and audio storage. Caddie also transcribes in the cloud (Groq or ElevenLabs) for accuracy, falls back to your Mac's own recogniser if the cloud is slow, and doesn't keep the clip on Caddie's servers.

How much do Caddie and Wispr Flow cost?

Wispr Flow Pro is $15 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly, and the free plan has a weekly word limit. Caddie is free while in beta, then $10 a month, and that includes notes, tasks, calendar, meetings and agents as well as dictation.

Does Caddie's dictation work in any app?

Does Caddie support Hinglish?

What does Caddie need to run dictation?

A Mac with Apple silicon on macOS 26.
