• A one-line scene prompt works because the tool sends thousands of words of context. Eliason types a single-line scene prompt, but Novelcrafter sends 6,000 to 7,000 words behind it: synopsis, characters, the last 2,000 words, a 30,000-word sample of his best chapter and a checklist of style rules.

  The style rules include never using an adverb you don't need, showing instead of telling, and avoiding excessive dialogue tags. He says the output comes out close to his own style, but he still deletes and rewrites most of it.
