How I WriteHow to Write with AI (Tyler Cowen Breaks it Down)

What was said about DeepSeek

  • Tyler Cowen uses DeepSeek when he wants looser, more emotional prose. Cowen finds DeepSeek less manipulated to sound a certain way, so it does better at poetry, emotion and romance. He asks it for a glorious description of eating a Puerto Rican dish, mofongo.

He calls it 'China boss' and uses it daily for wacky opinions and creative color when nothing is at stake. He suggests trying it regularly to remember AI is not always bland: "it is less Bland".

  • DeepSeek hallucinates more and is more censored, so Cowen avoids it for research. Cowen says the same looseness that helps with creative writing makes it unreliable for facts. He does not use it mainly for research.
