AdMax

A fitness app focused on getting abs, grown almost entirely through talking-head ads.

In short

AdMax, an abs-focused fitness app, grew mostly through talking-head ads. One stitch-style ad spent over $20K and returned about $60K in 3 months, with a CTA after a 9-second hook still earning roughly 3x ROAS. A viral launch cut paid CAC about 75% for a month. Lesson: turn creator reaction videos into ads, put the CTA early, and fund views.

What was said about AdMax

  • A raw stitch-style talking-head ad became AdMax's top earner. The best AdMax ad is a stitch: an AI clip grabs attention, then a man criticizes it. It spent over $20K and returned close to $60K over about 3 months, roughly 3x ROAS, and still leads spend.

The AI hook plays about 9 seconds before he starts talking, and George says a call to action anywhere in the first 15 seconds is good enough. One creator, Calvin, makes the ads, and Lino and George run them. Polished, high-production ads on George's apps gave zero revenue and a very high CPA.

  • Running only paid ads keeps AdMax's attribution simple. AdMax grows almost entirely on talking-head ads, and on TikTok it averages about $15 per purchase, not per trial start. Ads are judged by whether CPA sits above or below break-even.

Attribution on George's other apps is "kind of cooked," and he expects the new clipping campaign to muddy AdMax's too. A good CPA depends on the platform: a $24 CPA on Meta is close to 2x ROAS. Revenue figures are self-reported.

  • AdMax will fund cheap clipping views to lower its paid CAC. The plan is to add clipping campaigns with slideshow formats at about a 30 cent CPM, accepting a loss on the clips to improve paid metrics.

The idea comes from a viral launch: after Rork Max got 10 million views on Twitter, Facebook CAC fell for about a month, described as both about 75% and about a quarter. "If you go viral, all of your paid ads metrics just do amazing."
