X1 breaks app creation into explicit decisions instead of one-shotting an app. X1 splits creation into onboarding, major features, brand and design rather than prompting an AI to generate a whole app. The tool makes the creator wrestle with trade-offs and offers recommendations instead of deciding for them.

The modular structure makes decisions easier to adjust and the app easier to maintain over time. The goal is a non-technical person shipping a scalable, app-store-ready product. Andrew Maguire of Volo Ventures describes X1 as a portfolio company built this way, saying it should "actually force the app creator to wrestle with a hard question around trade-offs."
