A tiny, top-of-class audience can be worth more than a broad one. TBPN, a tech talk show and media company, reportedly had around 8,000 listeners and was acquired for hundreds of millions of dollars. Max Schoening of Notion cites it as proof that a narrow, high-caliber audience can win.

Max's advice is to build a great product for a top-of-class niche rather than everyone. Trying to serve 8 billion users would upset the first roughly 500 million, because the top of the class wants different things. He believes the world is run by group chats of eight people or fewer, so being exclusive can be a winning strategy.
