A website building platform.
The only source is a podcast about a PM's earlier job at Wix, not about Wix's product or growth. His first product review failed because he worked alone and hid his thinking. He then leaned on four fellow PMs as mentors and says it helped him excel. Lesson: early on, learn fast from teammates and share work early. Sources give no Wix metrics.
From Zevi's account of his time at Wix
A failed first review at Wix taught Zevi to learn from teammates. He worked alone for hours and hid his thinking, and his first product review at Wix failed. He then understood the expectation was to be a 10X learner, not a 10X PM.
He matched each of the four other PMs to a strength (product sense, methodology, systems thinking) and consulted each on that area. Their success then felt shared in later reviews. He says the shift let him excel, and Neri is still his mentor today. Quote: "the expectation of me was being a 10X learner".
Side products give junior PMs strategy and marketing reps big companies don't. At Wix he wasn't deciding company marketing strategy or full onboarding revamps. On his own side product he makes every decision on strategy, marketing and messaging, with AI helping.
He says those reps matter most at the start of a career: "this is basically just getting me reps". The downside of outsourcing to AI is real only if you use it wrong or fail to own the output.

Wix approached Base44 after community members urged it to buy him, and the talks began as partnership advice over dinners. The deal was $80M with pay tied to future results, and signing slipped when war broke out between Iran and Israel.
Cited as too complicated and unable to make functional apps. A personal site takes an hour or more on Wix versus minutes on Bolt.
A beginner can build the mobile-friendly one-page validation site in Wix, using napkin sketches of a few screens. No working app is needed to get feedback.
