A course-creation platform for internal training teams, built on StudyFetch's learning engine.
Honen, a course-creation platform for internal training teams built on StudyFetch's learning engine, launched publicly in May under its own brand. Early traction is qualitative: plumbers' unions adopted it, and an untrained marketer finished a cold-calling course in about 90 minutes. No revenue or customer numbers are given. Lesson: a shared engine aimed at a new buyer can justify a separate brand, and an underserved niche can seed B2B adoption.
Same learn engine, two separate products
From Esan Durrani on StudyFetch and Honen
Honen reuses StudyFetch's learning engine under a separate brand for training teams. StudyFetch teaches other people's content, such as uploaded course materials. Honen is a course-creation tool for internal training teams that teaches new content created within Honen. Both run on the same learn engine but as different products, sites and brands.
Honen launched publicly in May. It starts with the trades and a partnership with NVIDIA, which chose StudyFetch because it knows how to engage learners. Esan Durrani: "StudyFetch is designed to teach other people's content while Honen is designed to teach new content and content that is created within Honen."
Trade unions, underserved by software, gave Honen its early B2B traction. Plumbers' unions are early adopters. They want certifications and completion rates, and med gas certification is a specific pain point. An untrained marketer also finished an internal cold-calling course built in Honen in about 90 minutes.
Durrani: "Trades is actually something that we're getting a lot of traction in specifically with unions." No revenue or customer numbers are given for Honen.
