PMs at Whatnot use Hex Threads to run their own data analysis. Tom Verrilli, CPO of Whatnot, says PMs use Hex Threads to pull nuanced cohorts, trace one user's logs, and build sensitivity and regression models. Work that took an Amazon L7 data scientist a week or two in 2017 now happens in a thread, and he spends about 10 times more time in data.

Verrilli says he has spent less time talking to a data scientist in the last year than ever in his career. He pairs the tools with AI to spot regressions and knock-on effects between products faster. Data scientists shift toward fixing tracking, attribution, and data structure, since AI does not remove responsibility for checking analysis quality.
